No, I've got free will now and i wouldn't get rid of it, even thought i know i can do without it. Besides, my husband would go apeshit if i got rid of the telly just to prove the point that we can live without it!

"Given a choice, would you?"
We're already given that choice. There's no regulation that we must have a television in our homes, but most of us make the choice to purchase one. TV makes it easy for us. Instead of putting the intellectual work into reading a book or putting the physical work into exercising ... TV offers instant entertainment, a "fast food" solution to our boredom.
And that's not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes its nice to collapse on the couch after a long day at work and completely relax. I guess TV can become an addiction just like anything else. So I guess the key is everything in moderation.

I don't actually watch tv anyway - got better things to do with my time, like smoke ganja, pick my nose, masturbate...
there are a billion and one things i'd rather do than watch tv, including nailing my own testicles to the floor...
television is a government propaganda tool, used to brainwash and sedate the masses, and the crap that gets broadcast? Corronation street? my life's SO MUCH more interesting than this shite, and don't even get me started on eastenders...
why anybody would want to waste their life watching this drivel is beyond me - the only reason i have a tv in my house is so my little boy can watch dvds....
SHAH... sorry mate, but being an alcoholic is a damn sight more exciting than waching emerdale... kick your tv screen in, and go and buy yourself 15 cans of carlsberg special brew and a bottle of meths... :D

I`m a student in a foreign country and here you have to pay to watch TV so I don`t, the tv set just stands there but it doesn`t work. I haven`t watched tv 3 months now and I can say I don`t miss it at all! I would miss internet though so I have an internet connection instead!

Well, given that we all know we COULD live without a television but that practically nobody in the UK DOES (in 1992, 98.2% of houses had at least one TV), that should answer your question.

I do watch tv and kind of enjoy it sometimes but could happily do without it. It would make me do other things that are more worthwhile. I would miss being able to watch films tho...does that count as tv???

Most mothers could not but children had a choice. For me, it would be a blessing for the chance of my renewal towards my family.
