By what you have or by what you DON'T have???

It's a little of both. I look at what I've achieved and try to be happy with that. At the same time, I set goals for my life and feel rewarded when I accomplish those goals.

I do my best to not dwell on those opportunities that were missed earlier in life because that is part of where I am today. If I'm happy with where I am today, then I don't worry too much about what tomorrow may bring because you just don't know. On the other hand, if I am not happy with where I am today I try to develop a plan for getting to a place that will make me happier.

I hope that's a clear as mud! ;-)

You will never have enough material possessions. We are constantly being told that we need more stuff. Then when we get more stuff we need a bigger house to put our stuff in. A circle we find hard to break if you measure your life by these standards you will always come up short. If however you measure your life based on how you touch those you meet and how they touch you, you can at the end of the day, feel like you accomplished some thing worthwhile here. These are the things that will live on after you are gone.

Recently I've started to see things a little differently. Instead of worrying about what I have or don't have, I look at what I put into life. As long as I wake up and do my best at everything I can then I can say I have lived a good life. The success, failure, gain or loss is too dependent on factors beyond my control (i.e. genetics, schooling, freak accidents, etc).

I define my life by the kind of person I am and of those I have around me.

Life is not defined! - though along this line of thinking you are what you do and how you act. Remember the movie "My Fair Lady" how she was transformed from a guttersnipe to a Lady. Its more about actions then things.

Both. What i have is my acheivments and life lessons, What i don't have is my goals. Always have a goal in life, something I don't have but I wish to gain. Not just materail things, because money doesn't make you happy nor buy everything. Sometimes it's just to be a better person, gain a skil or finish a project.

More by what I am and what I'm not..
What I don't have and how important that is can only be measured by what I am prepared to do to get it.
