He belongs here. Just another overpaid pretentious celebrity. Galaxy don't need him. THey always was the pernial favorite to win the MLS. The Home Depot stadium is too small for Beckham and too small to make back the quarter billion dollar salary. THe thing is I think there is one guy who owns a piece of all the teams in the MLS. He figure if he gets more interest in soccer, he might make up his money in the other teams.

The transfer may sound very exagerating but I think he deserves to be bought at that price or get that amount of salary which many think it's crazy.

The reason why I say this is that he's colonised many foregners who didn't know about wearing Madrid's shirt especially here in South Africa people only knew about English and now you'd see them buying Madrid's just because of Becks. So he is a huge figure of marketing and not only a player and in the same time he is a great player who'd like to finish his career in US in order to have a better shot to "Hollywood" which wanted him since long.

Thanx!

It is nice to get a player for once who is not passed his use by date. That being said the $250,000,000.00 would have been better spent developing American talent and then marketing that talent the way the NBA did with first Magic and Larry and then with Micheal and now with 'Melo and AI. That will ultimately make that sport of soccer successful. When American kids playing in leagues in the Suburbs have some one to emulate who is as famous and as rich as any football, baseball or basketball player then that kid,who years ago would have switched to one of these other sports even though he enjoyed soccer will stay with soccer. Right now I think that soccer is where Track and Field and Speed skating are at. We get excited about them every four years and then we forget about it. And the participants of these sports go to Europe to seek fame and fortune and are virtually unknown in the land of there birth except for a few die hard fans of their sport.

Obviously, it's easy to dismiss this idea as foolish, but I think it might work. The attention he will bring to the sport is already easy to see. While he is not Pele, he is definately more marketable in the states. His form will be top notch in comparison to the other MLS players, and people will pay attention.

If there is a team fool enough to pay this former star, then so be it!! It would be nice if some of that outrageous amount of money he is being paid went to a charity is all I can say.

He's not as good as when he played for Man U. He's going down, so he goes where the money is. Well, I can understand that, he's got a wife who's high-maintenance.

Too old...too expensive..too pretentious for Galaxy to dish out that much money just to have a "big name".

That's a lot of pressure on him. I don't think anyone wil be pleased with the result. He's no Pele.
