Bad words are in the ear of the beholder.
Penn Jillette can use profanity, even name his show (BULLSHI t) a word that can get kids sent into detention. But he does it for legal reasons. He can be sued if he calls liars and scams what they are.
Noam Chomsky and Howard Zinn can give a lecture and right wingers get so angry that they almost have a coronary. Not one single "bad word" has been used but a strong reaction has been provoked.
"Humbug" was considered a bad word 150 years ago. Each separate word has its own origin. The subjects of these words-sex acts, bodily fluids, racial epitaphs etc are generally considered to be inappropriate for polite conversation.
Consider the following lyric-
"Whip out your deedle
and beedle to you weedle
and then start to peedle on the floor.
Let me rub your nuzzin'
Cuz your my favorite cuzzin
Let's do it til we can't do it no more."-
No actual bad words but the context of the nonsensical gibberish is awful to think about.
And deedle, beedle, weedle, peedle, and nuzzin- all made up gibberish! It might be obscene 120 years from now, who knows?
It's all in the eye of the beholder.

A word is just a word. It is only bad if it is perceived to be so. For example: one of the worst perceived "bad words" is just slang from England recovering from the Black Plague. Since the population had been so depleted, King Edward III had signs posted in all of the town squares "Fornication Under Command of the King".

Most of the bad words weren't invented to be bad. They were just refering to a certain meaning, then over time people start to alter the meaning to refer to someting vulgar. One instance is the word f---. Check it out on dictionary.com (the origin of it).

Normal words turn into bad words and bad words turn into normal words again. It is a cycle. Many of the words we use when talking used to bad or derogatory a hundred or more years ago.

Bad words are made up, not invented. It's us who make up those words when we are angry.
