As you know SAP is not just an accounting package. It is also an informative system to the management. SAP is having many sections. Its an independent programme in which we can develop our own software according to our needs. SAP and oracle are all most same types of softwars

It is a database program. Other parties build on it and it can be used for inventory, payroll and other applications. It was very popular I recall. Today I do not know, they compete with Oracle.
