Be at her service for a day. Cook her something nice, do some cleaning and just spend some time with her. It will mean more to her than you know.

Go out of your way to make her feel special on her birthday. It doesn't hurt if you manage to make her feel young again too. I think that instead of buying her a regular present it might be nice to DO something nice for her instead, to take out time to do something with her/for her. For example take her somewhere, like to the theater or a concert or some luxury health resort where she gets massages etc.

The best birthday present I've given my mother was taking her to a concert (she hadn't been to a real concert for decades and it made her feel young again) and I baked a lot and prepared food so that she could invite her friends over for a birthday party afterwards without having to do any cooking and cleaning herself. She really enjoyed this birthday and I'm sure many mothers would love something similar. You just have to think about what could make her day extremely nice and memorable. Maybe you can make some dream of hers come true. :)

Good luck finding something nice for your mother, I hope she'll enjoy her birthday.

I'll be 48 on my next birthday and the best gift my daughter could give me is time with her. She has her own life now and lives about 3 hours from me. I'd love to spend a weekend with her, reminiscing, watching movies, going out to dinner...just hanging out with her. That's a gift truly from the heart!!

Picture frames, if she keeps a lot of pics. Maybe something unusual. Does she like to cook? Any special food? How about a cook book? Does she have hobbies or like any particular activities? Get her something for the hobby or activity. How about a pin, brooch, pair of earrings? Does she wear scarves? Get a nice scarf. Consider a fold-up pocket mirror for her purse. Give her a framed picture of yourself (plus any friends she knows, or your family if you have one). Take her to dinner at her favorite restaurant or send her a gift card at a favorite restaurant. Ask the mothers of some of your friends, mothers who are your mom's age, what they would like. Good luck.

Show her your deep love.No one can prescribe it.You better know how deep is your love to.Just find a way to show that.It is not important to look for a very special gift.
