you need a car for everything. it's impossible to do anything if you can't drive or don't have a car.
I hated when in middle and hs it was hard to do stuff w/o your parents taking you everywhere.

Gee would you rather be in Toyko and be able to smell your neighbors bad breath because you are so jam packed? We are very fortunate to have the freedom to roam like we do

Older cities like New York and Chicago are very pedestrian friendly and have good mass transit systems. Cities which had their growth spurt after the advent of the automobile we spread out and are hard to negotiate on foot.

Having to have a car to get around efficiently can suck at times, I agree. Do you have any economically feasible suggestions to solve the problem?

i know, i cannot agree more. i travel quite a bit internationally, and it always amazes me how complex their public transportion is. you really dont' need a car in those places, in fact, having a car would just cost you to pay a lot of money for parking and other things
