if it was suspended for 3 years
this is not her first offence and she did something else
it should really be taken away FOREVER!

If you are 21 years of age or older, took a blood or breath test, or (if applicable) a urine test, and the results showed 0.08% BAC or more:

* A first offense will result in a 4-month suspension.
* A second or subsequent offense within 10 years will result in a 1-year suspension.

If you are under 21 year of age, took a preliminary alcohol screening (PAS) test or other chemical test and results showed 0.01% BAC or more, your driving privilege will be suspended for 1 year.

You say that her first DUI was when she was 18, but that she wasn't drunk. Well, I beg to differ with you. If she got a DUI, she was drunk. The proof is in her records. Also, the smaller you are the easier it is to get drunk.

Her second DUI, 4 years later, and you're minimizing the whole thing by saying she 'didn't get in an accident or anything'.
Guess what?
She was DRUNK DRIVING...........AGAIN!!!!!

She will not get her license back any sooner, thank God.

She needs to NOT drink and drive.
Period.

You need to stop treating your daughters drinking so lightly.
She is showing strong signs of being an alcoholic.

People who don't have a drinking problem, don't get DUI's.

People who DO have a drinking problem get DUI's.

If your daughter has gotten two DUI's, then she has a problem, and drinking is the cause.....therefore a Drinking Problem.

I'm in California, too, and I don't want your drunk daughter on the road!!!

Please look up the word "ENABLER".

The more you minimize your daughters' drinking problem, the more you're allowing her to die.....or to kill someone else.

Not trying to be mean here.
I just don't want you to have to go through what my family went through, honey. Trust me.....your daughter has a drinking problem.....and you do too. You may not drink, but your daughter does....and that's your problem.

My only DUI was back in 1985. The laws were much more lenient then but I got the message. Do not give them the opportunity to arrest you for this again. Don't drink and Drive. If you are going to drink drink at home and don't leave or if you want to drink at a bar walk to a bar and walk home. Call a cab, have a designated driver! Obviously your daughter didn't learn from the first time. Teach her to take responsibility for her actions and tell her nothing can be done!

So this was her second offense?
Quite honestly I don't think she deserves the privilege of a license at all.

Being "drunk" is not the issue - being impaired is. I don't care if she's teeny tiny or the size of small house - it's her responsibility not to drink and get behind the wheel period. Who cares that she didn't get in accident this time - what about the next time? Do you want to identify her body at the morgue? or find out that she caused an accident where someone else was killed?

Um... if she was driving under the influence it doesn't matter if she got in an accident or not. I'm glad to hear that her license was taking away for 3 years because she could've killed someone (that's how serious it is, and if you ask me... she should've gotten a jail sentence). She shouldn't get her license sooner... or ever. Tell your 22 year old daughter to grow up and I hope she enjoys taking the bus. bye bye now.

***AFTER DETAILS WERE ADDED: ***
WHAT! SHE DID IT BEFORE!?! It doesn't matter if it was only 1 drink (if she is so "tiny" she can get drunk without a lot of booze). And she was underage!! That's reckless and I hope she will never drive again. How are you going to feel if she get's her license, does this crap again and kills someone or herself!?! Be a parent!!!

If the punishment was that harsh, I'm sure she didn't (and probably won't) learn her lesson. The law has obviously deemed her dangerous on the road... and I'm glad she's off of them.

[EDIT:] How insensitive that you overlook the original problem... and that is your daughter is posing great danger to herself and others. Instead you focus on your own inconveniences and try to sadly justify your bitterness about her judgment by claiming, "...she didn't get [into] a[n] accident or anything?"

How sad. And I just mean for all of her future and potential MURDER victims.

Hi I Live in australia. Over here if you can convince the judge you really need your car for work, they can install this device in which you have to blow in to before the car will start and then every 15 minutes while driving. If it detects alchohol on your breath the car wont start or will stop.. Its not cheap tho about 2000 dollars to install. And it can be cheated tho so its a bit pointless
Hope this helps

Do you really think giving her license back earlier is a GOOD idea? You need to tell her to quit drinking & driving! Tell her to call you if she needs a ride home next time she drinks too much.

In some states, you can get the judge to allow her to drive to work or school only.

It's my opinion she should not get her license back. I'm not being offensive, but seriously, what would she learn if she were allowed to drive again and not only put herself on danger but many others as well?
