Last month I stopped taking birth control pills and switched back to condom, but because of what i thought was a little more effect from the pills we weren't extremly cautios ( we started making love without a condom then at one point stopped to put it on and then continue). Well, now my period is about a week and a half late and I am having all pregnancy symptoms, but all the tests that I made are negative. I would love to be pregnant, but this incertainty is killing me. Did anyone go trough something similar or knows someone who did? I could really use an opinion. Thank you very much!

This is very common when stopping birth control, especially birth control that contains hormones. Some women will go a while without a period and it usually takes a couple months to get pregnant when you discontinue B.C. use. But, if you are really concerned, you should check in with your doctor.

Hi! I agree best is to go to Dr. but here is what I can tell you as a family practice nurse for 12 years. (now in school) after some woman get off the pill it can take a few months for you to get back in a normal rhythm, so a few days early or late can be a common thing, but you can get pregnant right away, most Dr's suggest that you wait 3 months so your cycle can regulate b/4 pregnancy. but you need to check now to see if PG!

Over the counter pregnancy tests, are not always accurate. I thought I was pregnant once, and I did 3 pregnancy tests, which all came out positive. I went to the doctor to get a blood test to make sure, and it came back negative. So, the only way to know for sure, is to have your doctor run a pregnancy blood test on you.

Stress makes you feel all sorts of things it would be a bit too soon for real PG symptoms...take an EPT test and relax

Switching birth controls can screw up your cycle,it can take up to three months to get back to quote unquote "normal".
But go ahead and take a test if you have any symptoms.

Yeah, i've been through this. Just to let you know...it has happend more than once with me and each time my period came. It's probably stress. And the anticipation counts as stress too.

Best advice, go to a doctor. It may be to soon to tell if you are.
