If I remember correctly, Giraffes make a really high pitched sound, kinda like grunts that can not be heard by the human ear, but can be recorded with a special device. I'm pretty sure I saw a show about this on Animal Planet.

Giraffes are thought to be mute; however, although generally quiet, they have been heard to grunt, snort and bleat and also recent research has shown evidence that the animal communicates at an infrasound level

Not sure since every time I've been near a giraffe its mouth/vocal cords are too high up to hear!! A rather "tall order" to find out!!
