I DON'T THINK ANY SERIOUS IMPORTANCE TO BE GIVEN TO HER REMARK.

this is not true. you are making a mountain out of a mole hill.

the reporter just asked her "what should the north indians do since they are facing so many problems in mumbai"

it was a very practical an down to earth reaction to say "in that case they should go back to uttar pradesh"

please dont attribute such motives. i am a great fan of hema ji.

if you had been in that situation you would have given a similar answer. but just because hema malini is a celebrity, you are making a big issue out of it.

you can never cite regional bias in such incidents. you must also take into consideration the fact that she answered the question in a haste.

just leave it like that. hema herself is from south india. Had she faced regional bias, she would have never got into the hindi film industry.

Why, only she can tell you. We can only guess. She is now a politician and successfull politicians at times say such things with a specific purpose and to address a specific audience. When there is opposition they withdraw their words or say that they were misquoted. The targetted audience has already got the message.

Manmohan Singh has talked of first claim of Muslims on national resources. This was a well thought out strategy to convey a certain message to Muslim community. The purpose was served. Later all excuses and explanations were given by everybody on his behalf. He himself changed it to equal right. I consider it unethical as it creates disharmony in society.
