Well for me, i would go for more power......most probably something bigger than 750 or 1000 cc.

One that's appropriate for my skill level, first and foremost.

I also want it to fit me. I want a bike where my knees don't feel cramped on when they're on the pegs, where I don't have engine parts or a way too wide gas tank poking me, and where I can get both feet flat on the ground.

I want one with a reputation for durability. Pay particular attention to this one if you're looking to import bikes from the People's Republic of China. If you want to sell me one of those, you must convince me that it can compete with what Honda and Harley have to offer in terms of quality.

I want a place to put saddle bags or luggage on it so I can carry stuff when I ride it to work.

And it has to be fun to ride. Not necessarily fast, but fun.

Well, I'm not really sure where to go with this question because it is so vague, but most "boys" like girls. So you want to chose a ride that you can get some chics on. Now that we've got it narrowed down a little you've got to get a Harley! Live to Ride!!!

There are a few things that need to be addressed. first what style of bike does the person want, Sportbike, chopper, enduro, or cruiser. i am a sportbike man myself. then after that decision is made, you need to look at engine size and power. but before you look at that i would look at rider ability. that will determine what a person can handle. after those i would look at maker, styling, functionality, and personal comfort. and of course you cant forget about price, that will be the deciding factor
