Stretch marks often fade on their own with time. I've had them with each pregnancy. I'm 35 weeks now and they're all over. I seriously don't mind them. I do apply lotion but more for the itching rather than trying to make my marks disappear. I just don't care. The only people who see me naked is me and my husband. He totally doesn't care and I don't either. AND, like I said, they fade on their own anyway. They won't go away completely but they will fade quite a bit that you can barely see where they were. Or maybe it is just me. My doctor was trying to find my c-section scar and couldn't find it. It healed so well that they can't see it. Maybe I just heal well. Who knows. All I know is that stretch marks are part of life and not something I'm gonna waste my time stressing over.

Some people say that they can not be prevented. My mom told me that and I didn't use anything with my first pregnancy.I got terrible stretch marks. With my second child I used Palmer's.
My stomach was huge! I used Palmer's every morning and night. I didn't get one new stretch mark. My kids are 10 years apart and all my old stretch marks were faded. I believe the Palmer's prevented new ones.

time will make them fade though they never disappear. The best method of preventing them is a good diet. Make sure you are getting sufficient vegetables and drinking plenty of water. Putting creams on the top layer of your skin doesn't help much as stretch marks are caused by the layer underneath tearing. The cream you put on the outside can't penetrate to that layer. People claim that they used various creams and didn't get any but some people are more prone to them than others. I got loads, my sister didn't get any neither of us used creams. So to some extent it is the luck of the draw I'm afraid.

I used the Palmers stretch mark lotion with my first pregnancy, and didn't get any stretch marks until the last week of my preg when I gained over 10 lbs in one week. Some people are just prone to them. Try and keep your skin mostierized and that will help. Although if your gonna get them there really isn't anything you can do to stop them.

The only way to prevent stretch marks is to not get pregnant. Yes some women have had luck in making them fade with some lotions/oils. I like mine. They are constant reminders that shallow is what I am not I wear my stretch marks with pride.

There is no good way to either prevent them or get rid of them. I have some, and I haven't even borne any children -- although I have fathered some.
