it's not just his decision.... his wife wants to hang out with the A-List and her buddies Paris and Britney!
As for residency, he might well chose California for a number of reasons. He can still supervise his Football Academies from LA but have his children educated in the UK if he wants. The Californian climate is way, way more inviting and predictable. Real tans at lower prices!
He'll probably go coaching part-time before he considers ever retiring completely.

I don't think he can ever come back and play in europe... if he wanted to do that then he would do that now and not later then because the competitionis a lot more here than in US.

The other reason is that he's always wanted to be near Hollywood and Hollywood has wanted him since long so this may just be a good opportunity for him and his goals.

I think this man knows his days of being a big talent are over and this is his way of going Hollywood. (the guy is even featuring in the new ads for Disney's theme parks, do I need to say much more)
