All Carbons atoms have 6 protons and 6 electrons and 4 valence electrons on shell 2

The most abundant isotope is
C12 which has 6 protons and 6 neutrons + 6 electrons and 4 valence electrons on shell 2

A less common is C13 which has 6 protons and 7 neutrons, 6 electrons and 4 valence electrons on shell 2

And C14 which is radioactive has 6 protons and 8 neutrons 6 electrons and 4 valence electrons on shell 2
