Me,in the 12th grade I had done so well and raised GPA remarkably, but the last semester of my senior year in high school, I just couldn't understand Algebra II and felt like all my hard work was going to go down the drain. The school secretary noticed that I had been crting one day and called me into her office to see what was wrong, I told her I was having trouble with math and the teacher looked mean, so I was scared to ask him for help. She said that she would talk to him and the next day I was moved to the front row. This math teacher looked like someone who could care less about a student. He never smiled or laughed, so I was still reluctant to go ask for help at times, but I knew I had to get up the courage if Iwanted to pass that class. I did manage to get out of there with C.

I cried when I was a little kid cos my grandfather who was an accountant wanted to teach me and so I used to hide under the table to escape math and I also cried recently (while at University), when I didn`t pass the math test and I had to do it all over again the next year!

I have plenty of times, even with tutoring. Tutoring and studying doesn't always work, sometimes your brain just isn't wired to process it the same way. End up throwing the book at the wall, in frustration, do it because who wouldn't be angry if math is not making any sense even with doing all that stuff?

We made our teacher cry once, but I don't think that was your question........
Try to find a student who went thru the same or a similar course during the last 5 years. That's right, a student. Your half- remembered math after several years will probably add to the confusion, well-meaning though it is.

I loved math, so it didn't make me cry. I got a headache from trying to figure out a problem once, but that's as far as it went.
