I observe that most of the 2.5" USB harddisk casing have a USB spilter(2 USB plugs), My question is: after I connect the external HD to a notebook via one of the USB plug and since the USB cable attached to the HD casing have 2 USB plugs, can i still connect it to another PC? Meanning my notebook and my PC are sharing a same backup HD at the same time. Will I corrupt the USB external HD? Thanks!

No. The two USB connections are for power for the device. Some devices cannot be powered by the single USB and if you don't have an external power source, a second USB will provide enough to run the drive.

DO NOT connect it to two computers at the same time.
