If you are using a wireless router you may need to be connected via a wire to make changes to the router.

If you are trying to connect to the router with your ip it will not work. The router has its own ip
first u open internet explorer then type ur ipaddress u don't know ip address or u didn't access means u press router reset button and type 192.168.15.1 or 192.168.1.1 then they ask user name & password u put username :admin password:admin otherwise u put only password:admin.then u change ur password and change ur router setup.

If you are trying to connect to the router with your ip it will not work. The router has its own ip
For example if your address is 192.168.1.100 then the router could be 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.0 depending on how it is set up.

You can either play with the numbers a bit to see which one connects for you. Or you can look up your router name on the internet and find out which address it comes default set to. In 99% of the cases this default address has not been changed.

Just to be sure, it's not "your" IP address, it's the IP address of the router. Also, some routers won't allow a management connection throught the wireless network unless you turn on that option.

With that said, you should be able to enter
http://192.168.0.1/
or whatever your router's address is.

Finally, some (older?) routers do not respond to the IP address but instead a hard-coded donain name. Give a search on the internet for your router model to see if that's the issue.
