I'd probably check thrift stores and flea markets. Do you need one for mixing? If you do...they are called direct drive..and will set you back a good bit even when used.....
It's going to be VERY hard to maintain a turn table...when it's old needle or cartridge goes, you're going to need to go to a specialty shop to replace it. You're talking real money then.
I stuck with vinyl....stubbornly....for years....
I have finally given up. Having music that can't be transferred easily and well to a digital format is antiquated. All of those records I bought? Collecting dust. The collector market fell through as well...unless it's REALLY rare. I had to pretty much replace everything in downloads.

Dumpster dive, behind stereo shops, the needle will be the most expensive part. Most will need a new belt, but the needle is the killler

Try a thrift or pawn shop. I was at a pawn shop last weekend that had several of them.
