I am new to the Mac OSX system and am having trouble deleting programs and copying and pasting.The manual is?

I cannit add/delete programs as one does in the control panel of Windows,also I cannot copy and paste. Please help as the manual is boring and difficult to use for an old XP user. many thanks

To CUT - Hold "Apple Key" next to space bar down, to hit "X"
To Copy - Hold "Apple Key" next to space bar down, to hit "C"
To Paste - Hold "Apple Key" next to space bar down, to hit "V"

I'm relatively new to the Mac also being as I've only had it a month, from what I've gathered to add a program you first download the .dmg file which is basically the same as an execution file for windows. You then double click that file to run letting it go through the set up, up pops a window showing you the actual application file. Some programs I've found will allow you to select Applications on your Mac HD and installs it there, however other programs I've had to drag the .app file into Applications and it worked fine. As far as deleteing them you just have to drag the .app file to the trash can. Normally programs don't leave too much crud on the Mac as they do Windows.

delete programs --- it's so easy mac folk often forget that windows users are used to such hardships!!! you just throw the application in the trash! (this works for 99% of programs)!

the rest come with an un-install script.

You can download small applications that can uninstall programs in your Mac through http://www.apple.com and http://www.macupdate.com. There are lots of widgets you can choose from.

you may deactivate your account on facebook without deleting it...it merely takes you off of the radar till you settle on to turn on it lower back or delete it. you would possibly want to attempt that so that you do not ought to make it permanant in case you regulate your innovations.
