You have nothing, therefore you have nothing to lose. With every disappointment comes another opportunity. Be the person you want to meet. If you want financial success, hang out with that crowd. If you want to be compassionate, follow the volunteers that give to those in need. Remember, you can learn something from everyone you encounter;from the drunk in the street to the doctor in an office. See beauty in everything and beautiful things will seek you out. There are times when the only control you have in a difficult situation, is control over your feelings and words and actions. Be thoughtful.

It really depends on your belief system. If you subconsciously believe that you are destined to live your life in a pre-ordaned manner, then you might not believe it possible to have any influence on your life. But if you believe that you make your own opportunities and can create your own life, its a completely different story.
I believe that we can create our own lives.
What about you? What do you believe?
I will tell you my story (very short version). I have just moved to Sydney, Australia from the UK. I was a young first mum (aged 24), when I began to evaluate my life. I decided that I wanted to be a Psychologist (I had no qualifications at the time). So, I went back to Uni - 6 years later, I now have a BSc Psychology and an MSc Forensic Psychology. I am currently living by the beach, but will soon be moving out to a house in the blue mountains. My commute to work will be about 20 minutes, and some days I will work from home. All of this has been designed (I hope).
The trick really is to start off simple. If you have some issues with confidence and shyness, then this is where you need to start. I would suggest you work with a Counsellor. Then when you have the confidence, you will start to attract the rest.
Warmth and Smiles.

well, i've been through this road before. what you need to do is find out what your naturally gifted at. or as close to what your the best at. everybody has got something they specialize in. then work to get into a profession in which your good at and go from there. as far as shyness, you need to research the subject by surfing the net or go read a book on the subject. take baby steps first in mingling with others, then you can gain some confidence little at a time. do a makeover for your self. go to an expensive hair salon in downtown where its ritzy and trendy and ask the stylist to give your hairdo a makeover style. next, go buy some clothes at a designer store. you need a new self image. spending some money is really investing in yourself

Hi, I have the same problem. But I've had enough of getting what life's giving....I want more. And I decided that this year I will get out of this shell, face the world and do what I want to do with my life. I will no longer let others decide what's best for me. You should do the same, just think of how many opportunities you loose by standing and watching from the distance.

I have always been told that the first step to fixing a problem is to first acknowledge that there is a problem, and that's what you have just done. Life is what we make of it. You choose whether is sucks or is exciting and wonderful. I have felt like you before and I called it "life's fatal fatigue" because that's kind of what it was. One day I just realized that unless I made an effort to change the way my life was headed, I'd just continue down a dull and lifeless path. It's your life and your worth it, so make an effort to make it the best it can possibly be.

I used to. Then me and my best friend prayed to God for help quitting some things, and getting our lives back in order. My best bud is a guy like you in a way. I am doing a lot better and trying to guide him too. Look to a church and a relationship with God. If it wasn't for God i'd feel the same way you do. I used to feel that way. I also find that I feel much better when the house is clean.
