From what I've read in the news, we won't have a say or a choice. The FDA is NOT going to have cloned meat labeled.
Hmmm... If it's so safe, then why are they not giving us a choice? At least with organic foods, you can make a choice. I guess I'd better get used to tofu...
By the way, they say 'studies' show cloned meat to be safe. But all of us know the results of a shallow gene pool. Wouldn't that be neat if you bought all of your meat from Bessie Farms ('where all our cows were cloned from Bessie'), and many years later you realise that Bessie was the carrier of some crazy genetic disorder previously undiscovered. (remember when AIDS popped up out of nowhere, or how about Mad cow, that just popped up, too). (btw: nice bod! can we clone u?...please... :)
Mmmmm... Tofu!

Wait till April..
Dec. 28, 2006 -- Cloned animals are safe to eat, says the FDA.
That finding comes in a draft risk assessment from the FDA, the agency responsible for the safety of America's food.
However, the current voluntary ban on cloned foods remains in effect pending public comment.
The FDA will issue a final ruling after the public comment period closes April 2, 2007. The ban could be lifted before the end of 2007.
Stephen F. Sundlof, DVM, PhD, director of the FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine, announced the FDA's findings at a press conference today.

As far as cloned meat, who would tell by taste anyway??? Think about that question, that scares me more than anything. A small label that says ... "this meat has been cloned and approved by the FDA" won't tell you anything, I'd rather see ingredients and what they are adding to it- I say go organic. These are just MY views on this controversial subject- I thank you for your time.

No way! I also don't think that there is way to not eat it because the FDA said that they don't have to label meat that is cloned! The FDA claims it is safe to eat.

If the animal it was cloned from was deemed safe by the FDA, what's the problem??? Sure, why not? I'd eat it.

Eventually you won't have a choice. Once the cloning begins, and is widely used it will be very hard to find beef that has not been cloned. For example look at Homogenized milk!! Milker cows are now given that hormone the makes them produce more milk than they are suppose to. But no one is complaining! It will be the same way with beef!!!

You won't know it's cloned. They won't make them label it as cloned any more than they made them label meats that they sprayed with a virus to kill e-coli. The FDA caters to big business, just like the rest of the federal government does.

How are you going to know the difference? Is there truth in advertising, will the government make them list it as cloned meat? How do you know we aren't already eating cloned meat.

Ugh... If you know it's cloned, most ppl probably would pick un-cloned meat.... I know of a piece of meat I would like to clone, but that's a different subject.
