The main reason for being unhappy is when you compare yourself with others in terms of money, presence of comfort giving things and resources. the best way to get rid of unhappiness is not to bother for what others have. I know it is not an easy task but definitely you can try it. The means to get such a strength may include Meditation, Yoga, going through ancient epics and absorbing yourself in some other socially useful productive work etc. I am sure by accepting these measures you will get some relief. You must have learnt about a person who always complained for not having shoes to wear , but when he saw a man without feet he altogether stopped complaining about the shoes. Here, the thing to understand is your requirements are directly linked with your comforts ,and once you rise above these comforts you are free from all the worries.

Dear Bunny, Perhaps you might try to get evaluated. These days depression can be treated better than ever than in the past. There is a big difference between feeling blue and depression.Personally, I don't think I know what happiness feels like. Some of us have dysthymia which is a low level of chronic depression all our lives. Medication, thus far hasn't helped me, but I won't give up. I feel for you. Go get some help and see if you are depressed or not. May things improve for you soon.

If you are always unhappy I recommend you go to the Doctor and tell them you would like to try Prozac. It's a great anti depressant that will help you fell much better. And please don't feel guilty and get down on yourself for having to go on medication. It's a brain chemistry thing that sometimes we have no control over. There are Doctors and others that take Prozac to help them with their stressful jobs and lifestyles. It does make you feel so much better and ever happier. You can also try reading the Bible. This also will give you great encouragement :O) Hope you feel better !!!

Think of a time in your life when you were happy. Was it with friends or family. Maybe an event or a get together like a movie or bowling. Remember the faces of friends and strangers. Whatever the event or the person was, you should contact a close friend and do something similar. That should take a load off yourself.

Sounds like you could be clinically depressed. It is hard to get through something like this alone. Join a support group either here online or one that is in your area. Another thing you might want to see your doctor and get anti depressants. I know medication is not the cure all for everything but meds will drastically improve your life and your outlook. Therapy also is a very good way to start yourself on a road to full recovery.

first, you should determine the root of your unhappiness and work on that. for instance, if you have problems within your family, try to communicate with them and let them know how you wish things could be. this way, you will not be alone in finding for a cure for you sadness. sometimes, letting your feelings and sentiments out makes a big difference. look for people with a positive outlook in life and stick to them. avoid being with people who radiate negativity. de-clutter your life. fix your surroundings and the place you live in. you'd be surprised with how much your immediate environment is a big factor in your outlook in life. peaceful surroundings = peace of mind. finally, do not dwell on unhappiness. know that you're a person worthy of being happy. you should not deprive yourself of that...then again, you should not let others deprive you of that. when all else fails, pray. if you feel that nobody cares, you must rememer that God loves you.
best wishes.

Do something you enjoy, walk, exercise, listen to music, talk to friends, try to think of the good in your life , not the bad. Be thankful for what you do have, it could be a lot worse .. always..Do something positive to help someone else that needs it, like go visit someone in the hospital, nursing home, or someone in need.

You probably need to see a doctor and get some medicine for depression. You have a chemical imbalance and a little pill every day could straighten you right up.
