Dawn dish washing soap works really well, just put alittle bit on where the spot is, rub it in and toss it in the wash with your other clothes, since Dawn is made for greasy pots and pans, I did this when I got tired of spending all this money on products that say it works and doesn't, It was kind of an experiment and it worked.

The only thing I've found that really works is a product called Carbona Stain Devils. They make different formulas depending on the type of stain, so make sure you get the one for oil and grease. You should be able to purchase this at a fabric store, but I have also seen it online at hancockfabricstore.stores.yahoo.net/castde.html. Sometimes the stain comes out after one wash, but sometimes you may have to treat and wash two or three times. Follow the directions on the bottle and use the warmest water possible.

You definitely need to use a prewash spray. I like oxiclean. You may also pour whatever liquid laundry detergent you are using onto the stain and rub it into the grease. If you don't have any on hand, use a grease busting dish soap such as dawn and rub it in. Shampoo even works, since it degreases our hair. Before oxiclean was available, I rubbed shampoo into my husband's white dress shirt collars--it worked great. Cheap shampoo is fine. In addition to the pretreating of the spot, use a laundry booster along with the detergent in the washing machine--again, I like oxiclean.
**************Very important. Check to see if the stain has been removed before you put the item into the dryer. That sets the stain and it's harder to get out. If it's still there then retreat the stain and soak it in a basin with dissolved laundry booster and detergent. Soak even a day or two, checking it from time to time. Good Luck.

I used to put salt on the grease stain to absorb the grease out of my clothes but I am not sure it did much. Now I just use very good washing powder like Ariel. Well, it really works for me, so far I haven't had problems with stains.
(I have also heard that club soda works but I've never tried it)

I know it is long but...
if the grease just got on then put dish soap (any kind works, degreaser is better) on the spot and let it soak for at least 10 min...then rinse with hot water and then cold. if it didnt come out then redo the procedure. dont do it more than twice. if it didnt come out the second time then just put in a normal load of wash and if it still didnt come out, DONT DRY IT WITH THE STAIN ON THERE. if it dosent come out the second time you wash it then your pants are ruined but...!!! most likely it will come out.

Before washing I have used baby powder to absorbe the grease. After washing, I don't know if there is anything you can do, but I was told by someone to use Dawn.

To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains.
I have not tried it!!!
