Okay, guys, V-Day is coming up fast. My best friend and I have started 'dating' again but it's a recent thing (like we agreed to try this whole thing again two weeks ago and it's been going very well due to the fact that we've both grown up a bit over the years). This guy is a major sweetie (he actually came to my store to pick me up from work rather than wait in the van and offered to help me pick up my bookcase next week) and he was hurt bad in a previous relationship, something I was privy to due to our chats. This coming V-Day I want to do something nice for him that doesn't involve sex, since V-Day is a work day for him. I'm seriously considering a trip to Build-A-Bear, since we have one in our town but am not sure about it. I'm looking for sweet but not overly mushy. He and I agreed, when we talked about what we wanted in our relationship, that friendship was our foundation and would remain so. Guys, any suggestions? Oh, and he's very affectionate.

A gag gift? If my best friend were my boyfriend, I would get him Superman boxers because he loves superheroes. I wouldn't expect to see them, just for him to laugh.

No offense but Build a Bear seems to be teeny boppy. How about an MP3 player filled with songs that are sentimental to the two of you. Or a gift certificate to a restaurant he's been wanting to go to placed in a card for "dinner for two."

Guys tend to love gadgets and food. I'd stick along those lines, personalize it somehow, and stay away from bears.

Not a bad idea on the Build-A-Bear... i would go with that and add a little picture of both of you together.

Make something, like draw him a picture or sing him a song. Making things has more heart than buying. Good Luck!!!
