Companies that send jobs oversees end up having to hire more Americans in the long run. The cheaper labor pool allows them to be more competitive and focus on product development and post sale service.

Also many times its not the BIG corporations but the smaller ones trying to compete that move jobs. It allows them to stay in business which keeps Americans employed. Sometimes its the only way for a small to mid-size manufacturing company to stay in business. The American economy is not longer a manufacturing economy, we have matured in to a service economy. They job market reflects that, which is why the manufacturing jobs are going elsewhere. This is good for all involved.

I think there should be a moratoreum put on it right now. For the fact of the economy here is structuring itself upon it firmly and we need to bring our industry (manufacturers, factories) up to date here. In other words bring back the businesses here we will need them terribly with all the influx of immigrants. Car industry is big business and we farmed almost all of it out, that was wrong, plastic molding wrong, by the time we know it we are all lame brains the younger generation needs jobs and their are not any unless they go overseas for a blue collar job and the economy will erupt here and eventually the Chinese will take over. it is inevitable. Look all these presidents keep telling us about they are going to give more jobs, what type of jobs? where? and when?
We still have available those with the know how of working the mechanical equipment here and they need to train our young? What should our young so carry guns and go to war? Type on a computer, telemarketing? all pencil pushers? Hey everyone cant get into law,and medical schools, or play pro sports now can they? What are our young and middle aged going to do sell flowers on street corners? Landscaping? oops that is all the hispanic trades now? No offense but that is a fact. What about our lumber industry? Our papermills? They have dwindeled put 100,000 out of work? Our canning industry as well. Like tuna? All overseas? But one, and then what about the fishing industries? They have even limited our waters to let Japan fish instead of us? off the coast of Washington State it is horrible? What can we do? Fight in Congress, join the lobbiests get active protest and get involved! Amen

Offshore ... It's inevitable. As long as there are sources of cheaper labor abroad, more and more jobs will be exported until the "playing field" is leveled. By that, I mean that when the costs for getting the work done overseas approaches the cost of having the work done here, the "leak" will begin to slow and may eventually stop.

absolutely not.. we sent to many jobs overseas to save money here. So many families are losing out on this situation, we need to stop sending jobs over seas and we as Americans need to buy American made products.

Well, there is nothing that can be done about it.

What I think is really unfair is that Jobs, Capital, and Profits can cross country borders as they please -- but, the people working the "jobs" cannot leave their borders easily. So you might be in America and your job in Detroit might be going to Shanghai (say) -- but you who work at the plant in Detroit don't have the freedom to pack your bags and move to Shanghai. Think about that.

We should tie our trade policy to human rights and environmental policies. What I mean is, charge tariffs according to labor policy and environmental policy of the trading partner.

That way, we aren't importing cheap goods that are cheap for the wrong reasons.

Why?
There's no more living human kind back home in planet of apes?
Where is the spirit of "He's ain't heavy, He's by brother"
Was it just "All for the money"
What are we going to do with "Touch me in the morning" before leaving home for work in planet of apes?
Sad to hear "I'm nobody child" in planet of apes.

It pisses me off, but you know what? It's not the companies' fault! The taxes are so crushing here, that they have no choice if they want to survive- blame the government!

Quit shoulding on people. Bad things happen to everyone. If you don't let it get to you, you'll be a lot happier.
