I'm looking for a picnic basket as a birthday present for my mom. It would preferably be a wicker-esque basket with handles and service for four (plates, silverware, etc). I would like for it to be lined with some kind of pretty cloth (gingham or just something nice). I was hoping to spend around $50 total (including tax and shipping) but on amazon and other websites, they all seem to go for close to $100 dollars! Where can I find a cheap but still nice picnic basket? I've checked ebay but didn't find anything for 'buy it now' that would work. I'm in Manhattan so I could even go to a store in the city if I had to.

I've seen tons of baskets on QVC. You can go online at www.qvc.com.

If you do purchase through QVC or any other online store, try going to and signing up at www.ebates.com first. I know QVC is on the ebates site and if you click the QVC link (or other company) through the ebates sight you will get a rebate for your purchase. The rebate for QVC is either 2% or 3%, can remember which but it will show you. You accumulate rebates & once a quarter ebates will send you a check. I've gotten close to $480 from ebates. You might as well earn some money back while shopping, right? You can even do a search on the ebates site to see if they have other vendors that sell wicker baskets online.

Good luck!

Well i would say Ebay. if youve used ebay before it is very simple and totally legitamate. Just make sure the user you are buying it from has a very good feedback rating.
