Africa includes over half the world's pastoral community.Over 22 million people in africa depend on pastoralism for their livelihood.Some pastoral tribes in africa are Berbers(Morocco-Algeria region),Bedouins(Libya-Egypt),Masaai(Kenya-Tanzania),Somali(Somalia),Boran,Turkana,Taureg(Mali),Wodaabe Fulani(Niger),Moors(Mauritania-Mali), Beja(Chad),Kabbabish(Chad),Danankil(Chad),Nama(South Africa),Zulu(S.africa),Herero(Zimbabwe) and Tswana.

Out of these, the Massat is the main pastoral community living in africa.
