because society creates them. society usually makes these type of people feel less. Many are mentally ill. Many are neglected as children. Many are raped as children, and they think that the only way to receive closure themselves is to do the same thing to another child. It is just merely a chain that society refuses to break. Why do you think you asked this question the gay/les category?

I don't think even pedophiles know why they do it. My step fathers been in therapy for over 30 years & still can't give a reason why. All he can do is apologize which I accepted but there will be a cold day in hell before my daughter gets within 50,000 feet of him

Yes, it is sick. That's the point. That's why theres a DSM-IV place for it. Because it is an illness and needs to have SERIOUS and permanent treat for their entire lives. They should never be trusted for their own sakes as well as others. They should be identified at all times. Sorry, just a little against hurting children.

I don't think they are sick. I think they jusy decided to act out on a sick fantasy, and that makes them **** in my book. In my personal opinion, kiddie abusers should be impaled and broadcast in public TV.
Oh, and about feeling compassion and simpathy, I do. For the victims.

They are born that way and can not be cured or reabilitated.If any one understood it we would be able to put an end to it.They are like pschopaths, and racists. I think the question was asked in the right catagory.

A lot of them were probably abused as children. Now they want to have the control even if they know it's wrong. Just a thought anyway.

I don't understand either. I'm lead to believe that it is much like rape and has little to do with sex. It supposedly has everything to do with power. I don't get it, because I cannot view a child as a sexual being.

It all comes down to power and control.It is a way for sexual predators to derive power through the acts of molestation,sexual assault and rape.It has nothing to do with sex at all.
