Neil Young, definitely. He is crazy-inspired and doesn't give a rat's *** who he pisses off with his lyrics. He speaks TRUTH no matter how unpopular and "bizarre" it may sound.

Oh wow, that is a difficult choice! They are both great, but they are so different, particularly the well-known old stuff. It depends completely on my mood.
For pure universal emotion, it's got to be Neil Young. I can't hear ":Helpless" without stopping whatever I am doing and sitting down to just listen, and then I turn the music off, because I want it to stay with me as long as possible.
But I'm a Jersey girl. I am SO home when I hear Springsteen, I could cry.

Both are great. I'm going to say that Neil Young is superior just on the basis of originality and his unique approach: Young was subtly influenced by Dylan and not much else whereas Springsteen clearly shows traits of 1960s popular music and early 1970s American trad-rock.

How about a draw? Bruce is the better of the two at being from New Jersey. Neil is the better of the two at being from Canada. I think that makes it a much easier question. They're both great.
