Cigarettes are probably more deadly than marijuana, so why aren't they illegal?

I hate all those lung cancer patients who take up hospital beds that could go to more deserving patients, people who didn't bring on their illness with carelessness.

Some of those lung cancer patients never smoke a day in their lives Don't hate on terminally ill patients because you want to get stoned. Just smoke one and mellow out for a while, have happy thoughts.
It's the damn Tabacco industries & our Govt who takes millions from them annually, get your head out of the smoke cloud.

I agree that it is all about tax, smokers make a stack of money for the government.
I must say though, that not all lung cancer patients are smokers!
CAL is often a secondary cancer to other forms. I nurse many people that suffer from various forms of cancers that metastasis into the lungs.
I'm more concerned with the junkies that have infected toes through shooting up into their feet taking up hospital beds as they know how to use the system. Where as any cancer patient has the right to health care, even the smokers.God knows their taxes have paid for it.

The government reaps billions of dollars through the sales of tobacco products. Just because ppl die is a poor reason to ban them.......in the governments eyes!!!

I used to smoke roll your own tobacco (gave up 6 mths ago).
Whenever I traveled o/s I used to buy a carton of Drum tobacco duty free (5 packs) It cost $22.00 for the carton. Individually, at a supermarket it cost $20.00 for 1 packet. The difference in price was TAX, TAX and TAX.
