No, far from it. During the cold war the governments with the nuclear weapons were stable. Nuclear weapons were considered "defensive" weaponry. The countries entering the nuclear club now are far more likely to use nukes offensively. Iran said that they want to "wipe Israel off the map."

Far from it, the middle east and N. Korea are getting more and more nuclear as the time goes by.

No. As long as WMD like Nuclear is present, Any one who have access to the system may use them. We have to take greate care to secure Nuclear arms from terrorist.

Threats that will KILL US>
Nukes, Poisons, Suicide bombers
runaway asteroids, the sun fizzling out

No. As long as there are Bombs "out there- somewhere" (& right now, there are a LOT of them), the threat exists that someone, somewhere... -and you can only IMAGINE the rest... :(
