Why there are so many signs not to dump toilet paper in commode? I think toilet papers are very thin and it easily dissolves in water. Even its more softer than what we really dump there. Any idea? I feel dumping toilet papers in commode is no problem.

There may be septic systems instead of sanitary sewer systems and some toilet paper can cause a problem in the septic system. With a septic system you must be careful what you put down the drain. Too much paper(especially non biodegradable), grease and chemicals can affect the way the system works. It can kill the bacteria necessary to decompose waste and clog the drain field and cause the backup of the sewer.

if its a very old sewer system or toilet it might not take much to make it back up. so where they say not to do it, dont do it.
