my partner and i are planning on getting married and spending our lives together. i have told my parents this because i feel its important but he wont tell his parents. We have been together for two years and
were getting a place soon. I asked him why he wont tell his family and he says he just doesnt talk to them about that stuff. what should i do?

Obviously there is a communication breakdown between your fiance and his parents. That also shows a lack of commitment from your fiance. He should definitely have told them. You should communicate your feeling to him or else your marriage will be doom to fail because of the lack of communicating.

you need to question why he wont tell him parents that you are
engaged. there is something not right here. he need to let
them know that you are the love of his life, trust me if he
doing this, you have a bigger problem on your hand, something
does not feel right here. i would look at this closely, marriage
is a committment, honest, communication.. and after 2 years
there should be all that and more.

His family is his business even if you are sharing a life together. I can see it getting rough around family events and holidays though.

His parents probably don't approve of you.

It could be that he is not in good terms with his family that he would rather keep it private. I would consider on sitting down to talk to him again, and ask "WHY" don't they have any communication.
Seems to me that there could be more to his story that he is not telling you.

What is his problem ? how can you be engaged to someone who wont tell people, is he embarrassed ? you should tell his parents or do you even talk to them ?
