The USA contributes to Global warming by belching billions of tons of carbon dioxide into the air. However, so do plenty of other countries.

Unrest, as you put it, is not worldwide. Much of the regional unrest is being driven by a new tide of fascists hiding behind a religion called Islam.

The USA has increased its forestation ( more trees now than there were 50-60 years ago. )
Of the top 25 polluted cities none of them are in the USA.
Of the hotspots of pollution in the world none are in the USA.

China and Russia are the biggest polluters.

Unrest...
China - Tibet? nothing to do with the USA.
Serbia - Croatia. The USA didnt start that.
Pakistan - India USA didnt stir them up either.
Israel and the PLO. It was the UK that setup the state of Israel although the USA does give money to Israel ( it gives money to everyone else also though ).
I could go through lists of lots of others.. but the USA didnt start and isnt even involved in alot of conflicts.

Yes the USA does get involved in some though. And certainly cant claim to not have contributed to unrest in some places.
For instance Afghanistan would have been much better off if we hadnt backed out in the 70s and let things fester until the Taliban moved it.
