I heard the sound of water hitting the floor. The clothes washer was overflowing. I opened it and it was full of water. I turned it off and unplugged. But water was still leaking from somewhere. The bottom. For the next couple hours i had a pot under the washer as all the water slowly drained out of a little hose the was just under the front. Its empty now. Ima assuming the hose is supposed to be connected somewhere but I cant see it! I'll keep tryin'. *sheesh*

I came across this same problem quite recently, but the washer appeared to be leaking just from the back and the top was dry. The building engineer said it can be caused by using too much detergent. This causes some sort of backup in the hose and can cause the washer to leak from the bottom (and this can be the case even when the water is not leaking from the top, as well). In my case, I walked into a shared laundry room with an inch of water on the floor. In my case, the machine had completed its full cycle by the time I walked in and the washer did not have water inside of it. The hose also had not become dislodged. If I were you, I would try to reattach the hose yourself before paying a repairman. Check your manufacturer's website to see if they have any diagrams that might help you figure out where the hose should go. Once you reattach the hose, you will first want to pour some water into the tub to make sure it is draining properly (this is what the building engineer did). If that seems ok, then run it through a short cycle. If you can't reattach the hose or if you reattach the hose and it still leaks, then I would call in a professional. Good luck!

Some machines have an overflow hose which is designed to drain water from around the inside of the machine in case an overflow should occur. The only other small diameter hose is usually on a for machine that has a compartment that allows fabric softener etc. to be added while the wash is in progress. All of the other hoses are a larger diameter 5/8 or 3/4 inches. Try running the machine thru the last spin/rinse stage of a wash to see if that hose still leaks. If so you'll have to remove the top of the machine for further inspection.

It sounds like the small hose may be the hose that connects the pressure switch(water level switch) to the side of the outer tub(pressure dome) to control the water level in the machine. If it comes loose it does not make the water level selector switch move from the fill position to the agitate position. Which also means that the water is not shut off when the tub is full so it will overflow.

Check to see if that hose has not pulled loose or broken and I am sure that will solve your problem.

i would say there is a small clamp that has come loose from the hose connecting it or you might have a split in the hose it self ,if you have the papers that came with the washer that might help you find where it gos to , but most people cant find them when you need them ,go to where you bought it from and see if they can help ,have you moved the washer lately u might of pulled it loose or if your water has frozen that could cause that to happen too ,i just hope its not the timer on the machine its expensive to repair anyways good luck ,i hate the laundry mats

If this happened in the house...make absolutely certain all the water is dried out. See below for the reason why.
