One of my best friend has some big problems and i'm not sure what to do about it. She has a little girl that is 8 years old and has reacently been touched in an inproper way by her grandmothers boyfriend she told an aunt and it was reported to CPS. They ended up not doing anything about it except telling my friend that she couldn't let her daughter go over there without her being there. Now the little girl is acting out in school throwing her self down on the floor saying she wants to die. It is truly sad. The little girl stays with me whenever she can and she loves it here. When she is at her house her mother and her mothers boyfriend makes her stay in her room all the time and lets her only come out to eat. Her mother says its because she is in trouble but I don't think thats ok. My friend is now pregnant again. Her house is nasty she never cleans. She stinks sometimes her self. I know this isn't ok how do I tell her if she doesn't change things i'm going to call CPS.

I think that you have seen and heard enough to have ALREADY contacted CPS. This has nothing to do with you and her friendship. What she and boyfriend are doing to the child is just as bad as the molestation. The child obviously needs some therapy, but the Mom either doesn't see it or does not care. Call CPS tomorrow; a child should not have to be molested more ways than one.

I think both the mother and the girl need some counselling. It makes me feel that the mother is feeling very inadequate and insecure, and the only means for her to feel accepted is to just agree with everyone. Hence, she chose to think that her daughter is in trouble instead of standing up for her for being molested.

As for the girl, I am worried that if no help is given to the poor girl, she might grow up to be rebellious or even abusive. She should be given the chance to live a better life. Please call CPS.

you need to convince your friend that her daughter needs counseling and that she should be involved with that to get her own self esteem back. You should call CPS either way because they may force her to get counseling and you can always say the school must have called in she asks you. Hope things work out there.
