Begin by listing all the reasons why you ARE taking the class online. Use this as an outline for your paper. Is it b/c of working full-time, family obligations, etc.? You could list the advantages vs disadvantages. If you have already taken a traditional class, you could contrast the two. If you are writing the paper in the essay fashion, start w/a paragraph listing your reasons why, along with a thesis statement. Don't forget a really catchy intro sentence. Then list your reasons. Finish with your conclusion--you could state why you think you will do better w/an online class, your goals, etc. Hope this helps!

Well, it would be hard for me to write about that because I'm not taking any online courses. Why did you choose to take online courses? Was it more convenient? Do you work during the day and this was the only way you could take this certain class? Was it cheaper? Do you work better by yourself instead of in a large class room with other students? Are you returning to school after many years and this was the most practical way to finish your education? These are some of the questions you should ask yourself and then put them into your paper. Good luck!

Well now, if this was my paper, I would have a wheelbarrow full of reasons why i was taking the online course instead of the classroom session. But it isn't my paper and i haven't the foggiest idea why you are taking an online course.

Hello, Kee!
You can get real answers from experienced people who "are" or "have been there". Go to Usenet via Google groups, and find the newsgroup alt.education.distance , and ask something like this:
"What are the advantages of taking an online class as opposed to a brick-and-mortar class? What has been your experience?"
From the answers you get there, I am sure you can start writing your paper.
Best of luck,
CAL "Makberto"
P.S.: Of course, people can help you here as well, but alt.education.distance is the specialized newsgroup when it comes to distance education!
P.P.S.: And the other folks here gave you some very good clues, I can see!

Easy as pie....
Come up with three distinct reasons why you are taking it online.
First Paragraph Introduces these 3 Reasons
Paragraph 2 Talks about Reason #1
Paragraph 3 Talks about Reason #2
Paragraph 4 Talks about Reason #3
Paragraph 5 Sums the whole thing up and puts a nice bow on the paper.
Good luck!
