My mother, I and my daughter disagree about this. I believe it is customary to blow your smoke off to the right side, my mother says off to the left and my daughter says straight foward....who's right in your opinion?

Blow smoke in my face wearing all black leather while we are sitting in a black corvette with black leather seats.

I think it depends on where other people are. If there's someone in front of you, then I would think you would choose to blow smoke off to one side or the other, so as not to blow the smoke in the person in front of you's face. Same with either side, I'd imagine.

It's more of a "respect for others" thing, than any custom though.

I've been a smoker for 20 years, and haven't really ever heard this before.

This is in the music category. I am racking my brain about a musical meaning for smoking possibly related to wind instruments, which I don't have high regard for, except perhaps the flute. As for cigars and cigarettes and such, common courtesy suggests blowing the second hand smoke away from others, unless, of course, blowing smoke in someone's direction is meant to make them move away. Blowing smoke in someone's direction can also be construed as seductive in the right settings, sort of a casting of one's energy field over and enveloping another. Straight forward, though, causes more upper lip wrinkles, per research, than does right and left releases. People tend to blow off the side of the mouth opposite of their dominate hand. This is more than you wanted to know, isn't it?

It depends upon where the others are in relation to you. If everyone is on the right, blow left and vice versa. Straight ahead is almost always safe as long as no one is across from you.

If you are right handed you should blow the smoke to your right and if you are left handed blow the smoke to your left.
I prefer if people would not smoke. It is ruining your health.

It's customary to blow it away from the person nearest to you. That's the correct way.

Anywhere that's not in someones face... so if someone's on your right... then blow your smoke to the left and vice versa.

Depends on what you're smoking. Right handed cigarettes, to the left. Left handed cigarettes, to the right.

If someone is on your left, then blow it strait out or to the right.
If someone is on your right, then blow it strait out or to the left.
If someone is in front of you, then blow to the left or right.
If there is someone to your left, your right and in front of you, then blow it UP :-)
