i wonder the same thing myself at times. life isn't just about working to live and stuff like that... it's about fulfilling.. something... a dream... idk, while you're still alive. like... just.. living your life. life's an adventure really... it's difficult to say exaclty what the meaning of life is... it's just one of those things i guess that just doesn't have an answer..

I think the purpose of life is to give a direction to mankind that you think is the right direction towards finding the truth. End of our lives, all that is going to matter is the message that we are leaving behind to this world and for the generations to come.
The current people in the world are nothing but passing face of humanity. No human in this world will live for more than an average of say, 80 years. The formation of society and rules are an outcome of the purposes of our ancestors lives. Similarly our lives purpose is to add to the collective effort from our ancestors to make the world a better place and eventually finding the truth of our lives.

You can not use meaning and purpose interchangeably. Purpose is objective while meaning is subjective. Our purpose on this planet is singular. To reproduce. Only during this quest does meaning spring. Therefore any meaning in life must be examined subject to the purpose of living.
Everything we see in life therefore can be considered a biological trick, only enticing us to reproduce. An example of this is babies being cute. Babies appear "cute" to us only to further the human race, and encourage couples to have them. If babies weren't cute, then why would a couple keep a shitting, puking, unresponsive, expensive, repulsive "thing" in their house? Maybe the example of babies is too harsh for some, so look at pets. Pigs and dogs have similar domesticated temperaments. Yet more people choose to have dogs as housepets than pigs, purely because dogs are more pleasant to look at. I think the ultimate meaning of life is found when one accepts the purpose of all life. That is, simply to keep life living.

The purpose of life if a life of purpose. To find your purpose, find your passion. Connect that passion to serving others and you have found your purpose.
Purpose gives meaning to life. Pursuing your purpose is the key to maximizing your sense of self-worth and to living a satisfying/rewarding life.
Best wishes and good luck.
P.S. I would like to suggest that you read any book on this issue - there are many, many good ones. One I recommend is "Count Your Blessings" by Dr. John Demartini. You may have seen Dr. Demartini on Larry King Live or at seminars with Depak Chopra.

I think everyone is unique and have different potential. Knowing what is your gifted potential and uses it wisely. Knowing that you have made a mistake is wisdom. Learning from mistake is genius.
The main purpose in this world is not only live to work or work to live. there are alot more you can do.
E.g. the bees is hardworking, everyday they have to find nectar to survive, but at the same times it’s help the plants to produce fruits by flying from one flower to another flowers.
The bees not only have their food to survive, then indirectly help to make the world better.

life purpose is, to worship God. Sound simple is it. But first you have to get to know who is God(find the real one). Then finally you at end of your life in this only so called earth, near to death you will find that the door to the God is nearer.
That is life purpose. If we still hold to " what the point of giving all the worship to God" then thinnk again, God dont even need us to life.

Our purpose in life is to awake to our union with God in unconditional love within our heart. Our supreme duty is to express that unconditional love. As the colors of the rainbow are contained within sunlight,so to are we all contained within the light of Gods unconditional love. "God dwells within you as you"
