A question as difficult as it is simple. Firstly, it would depend on the type of encounter.Are we talking 1st degree. A simple fly by of a UFO only slowing down to make sure you cant get your camera in focus. In this case the pants dont matter much. Casual, blue jeans... something like that shall do.
Now if we are talking abduction. Thats different. We're going to want to wear something comfortable. We all know that whats coming aint gonna be your proudest moment. So when its all over that last thing you want are tight of chaffing pants.
Lastly, if the alien encounter is they are coming to pick you up and treat you as an honourary leader and make you a wonderful feast, the pressure is on... you must look good. Khakis will not cut it!!! You must dress to impress, break out the dress or tuxedo pants and be sure to have them ironed before they pick you up.

Strange question. But if you know you are going to have an alien encounter then dress to look your best and dress in a non threatening manner. Do NOT wear military type of garments or carry weapons.
If you do not know that an alien encounter is going to happen then you are stuck wearing whatever you have on or don't have on.

nicely i might say specific, as to different extraterrestrial beings we would look as alien to them. And we positioned on pants, nicely i do a super form of the time besides. ha! nonetheless different extraterrestrial beings might basically make that area bypass invisible. Hmm! lol
