Protesters were taken out back and beaten within an inch of their life. The whole nation rallied around the flag. We were fighting for OUR freedom, and everyone knew it. No division in the nation. Many industries were started with new technology developed as a result of war-related research. WWII probably put us 50 years ahead of where we would have been technologically if there had been peace instead.
So just WTF is your beef?

You'll have to understand that in the 1940s parents were allowed to spank at will.

So whenever anyone like you came out with the idea that businesses got involved in war for mere profits, they would have been taken out to the woodshed and the fear of Almighty God would have been beaten into their bared buttocks.

The reason for this is because the parents feared that their children would grow up braindead and never be able to provide for themselves.
