Hi.
Here's my 'puts:
Wynn: I think it's pretty darn nice, but nothing THAT special. The impression I got from the crowd is they are there to say, "look at where I'm staying-The Wynn!" if you know what I mean. Lousy location though, at the very North end of the Strip.
Mirage: Used to the most upscale Wynn property. Good mid-strip location. Nice pool.
MGM: Was the world's largest hotel (it may still be). As such, the staff is a little stressed IMHO, and getting stuff to your room takes a while. EXCELLENT LOCATION. With some really good restaurants: Wolfgang Puck, Emeril's on the property.
Mandalay Bay: IMHO the property on your list. I'm guessing you're probably 20's-30's, single or DINK. This is your spot. Great clubs, some of the best restaurants on the strip, nice casino-awesome pool/beach-with concerts in season. Upscale, but not ridiculously expensive like the Wynn.
my suggestion would be if your group just can't decide: It would make more sense for you to be in MGM and Mandalay Bay. You would be close together, and conveniently close to the other properties on the south Strip.

When you go to Vegas the best place to stay to be able to get around walking to all the hotels and see stuff is near the corner of Flamingo Road and the Strip. The hotels at that location include the Flaminngo, Ballys, Paris, Bellagios, and Ceasers. For convenience then the Mirage would be good since its next door to Ceasers. Wynns is a new hotel and I have not stayed at that one but I understand that its pricey like Bellagios and the Venetian. I have stayed at Mandalay Bay and MGM

Mandalay is great in the summer when you can use the sand beach pool and lazy river. But in the winter and spring when you may not be doing water stuff because they are probably not even open, the Bay is a long way from everything. The room we had there was nice but not "special". I have stayed at the MGM twice and allthough I like their location OK and their pool area is good, I hated the rooms we got. Whatever you do don't accpet a room in the "West Wing". Those are some of the smallest and most uncomfortable rooms I have ever had anywhere in Vegas.

If you are going with a group and decide to stay in different hotels remember to stay near Flamingo Rd. Try Ceasers, Mirage or Paris. Paris I stayed in last time there and the room was nice and so is the location. Ballys is next door to Paris and conneted by a mall so you don't even have to go outside. Mirage and Ceasers are so close that you can almost go from one to the other without going outside.

Hope this is enough.

Wynn is the nicest and newest, but it's not the best location on the strip. MGM is probably a better location, and more reasonably priced, and lots to do there. Mirage is probably the best location out of the bunch, as far as proximity to the other hotels and casino's on the strip, but it's the oldest and I do'nt think it's that nice. Mandaly Bay is also very nice, but way far down in a bad location. So if location is key, go with Mirage. If you want a luxurious room and don't mind paying up, go with Wynn.

first and foremost, the rooms in all major las vegas hotels are pretty much exactly the same. so, my opinion is based on amenities and things to do in the hotel itself.
wynn - extremely overpriced. a little nicer, but again contains the same in the room as every other hotel. also, food is expensive and the shopping is pretty much what you would find in paris, beverly hills, etc., however it is across the street from a great mall
mandalay bay - great pool, also has a shark reef, house of blues, great restaurants that aren't too pricy and a beach, but the last hotel on the strip
mirage - pricy, but fabulous restaurants, the dolphin and lion exhibit. a great fish tank at the front desk and a great nightclub
mgm - my favorite... lion habitat, great shopping, great restaurants, three cool bars (two of which are nightclubs)

your choice would really depend on what you are going to do. and how old everyone in your party is. i have stayed at all of these hotels and i would choose mgm or mandalay bay. good luck and have a great time.

I stayed at MGM just this past December. It was my first time staying there and although it wasn't bad, I feel there are nicer places to stay in Vegas. All three of the other you list are nicer than MGM. I'll give you some of the pros and cons of each one...

Wynn pros:
- Location... It's center strip near Treasure Island and right across from fashion show mall.
- Upscale... this is probably one of the two nicest hotels in Vegas (Bellagio is the other) and the casino has a very comfortable atmosphere.

Wynn cons:
- Cost... you're going to pay more here than at the other three you list.

Mandalay Bay pros:
- Swimming pool... nicest in Vegas.
- House of Blues.. you might be able to catch a headliner there.

Mandalay Bay cons:
- Location... it is extreme southern strip. Bring good walking shoes or lots of cab fare.
- Cost... for their poor location, they should charge less.

Mirage pros:
- Location... the Mirage has the finest location in Vegas. It has a tram to Treasure Island, is right next to Caesar's Palace and is directly across the strip from the Venetian.
- Adult playground... this is a fantastic place to stay for people in the age group 25 - 40.
- Danny Gans... one of the best (if not the best) shows in Vegas.
- Cost... this used to be one of the most expensive hotels in Vegas but you can find pretty good deals there during mid-week.

Mirage cons:
- Not a great place for families... very little for kids to do here.
- Crowded... because of its great location, lots of people who don't even stay here are often walking through the Mirage to see the tigers, dolphins, etc.

MGM pros:
- Cost... of the four you mentioned, you'll find the best deals here.
- Studio 54 & Tabu... excellent nightclubs.
- Location... it's on one of the famous four corners of the Strip and Tropicana avenue. The Tropicana, Excalibur, & NYNY are all on the other three corners.
- One of the best hotels in Vegas for families.
- Monorail station

MGM cons:
- Rooms... I felt they were a little rundown and in great need of new furniture (our party had three rooms and they were all this way)
- Location... this can be a pro and a con depending on how you look at it. It's south strip away from what I consider to be the funnest places to hang out (those are Wynn, Caesar's Palace, the Venetian, & Bellagio).
- Size... this pace is HUGE! From your room to the strip just through the hotel is about 3/4 mile.

My recommendation: if you can afford it, stay at Wynn. Otherwise, go with the Mirage.

Cheers

In my opinion all of them are nice, but Mandalay is very far from the rest, MGM is also kind of far, most of the hotels and casinos are within the Mirage area so I would recommed to stay there or Paris Paris, Venetian, etc. they will all be at a walking distance and not from MGM or Mandalay.. but you will use your own car anyway, but moving from one place to another may be molesting though... Go to downtown, it get's interesting too (freemont St)

Money no problem------- Four Seasons @ Mandalay Bay,---- then Wynn, Bellagio,Ceasars,Mandalay Bay,and after those four take your pick,MGM[get a map of the place],Luxors, New York New York, Paris, Mirage, and the Venetian. I would take the Ventian as centrally located and enjoyable features amenities wise and attractions there. Plenty resturants and variety of foods offered.

I just got back from Vegas. we stayed at the Mirage, it was nice. But the food is kinda pricey there. The rooms were nice, but nothing spectacular. The casino is good. Jet is a good club to go to there My friend stayed at the Paris, the room was real nice. Seperate shower, tub, plasma TV, seating area. Just more pricey than Mirage. Wynn is gonna be very priicey, but probably the nicest.

really like Mandalay Bay, they have a couple good restaurants, like The house of Blues(the key lime pie is awesome!)and their always have shows their and at the stadium. Plus House of Blues has this great Sunday breakfast show. And for other entertainment you've got shark reef, their aquarium, and an awesome pool for the summer.

We are planning a trip to vegas coming up. There is a site from Frommer's that give really good detailed information. I also like the trip advisor site. It gives people a chance to review the hotels. It helped so much the last time we went. The reviews are usually quite accurate.
