I am interviewing with Waddell and Reed next week and I am very excited about starting a new career with them. If there is anybody out there who works with W&R and can tell me about your experience and advice, I would appreciate it.

I worked for them from 1989 to 1992 in California; lots of study to get your federal and state securities license and pressure to excel.

Had to run my job as a sole proprietor, paid all my taxes and almost went bankrupt. The most successful person in my division made about $26K and worked all of the time.

My Division Manager was helpful but I wound up quitting after the first Gulf War because all of my working class clients redeemed their investments and thought that the economy was going bust.

My parents always told me that this job was for a "rich person who has lots of $$".

I would suggest going back to school and working full time for more education (junior college, business school, university).

You will be happier in the long run.
