I hope I can help you understand "the type A personallity" a little better. I only know what I've read and I will share it with you if it's alright? The type A person is a hard drivin individual, that demands perfection in all that they do. They work constantly and rarely sit still and are very high strung emotionally. They have a tendancey toward being workaholics! They expect all others around them to do as they are told to do! They don't like any type of critizisum ever! They make hard driving bosses to work for. You will almost never see this person playing a lesure sport "just for the fun of it". This person will always want to try to win everything and get upset when they don't. I think a good example of a "type A" would be Donald Trump! This person is critical of everyone working around or for him (he is also very critical of himself) Nothing is ever done well enough for this type. This individual must be at the top or not at all! This personality type also is the kind that usually drops dead from a heartattack! Or has a nervous breakdown. Thats about the extent of my knowledge on this. I hope it helped?

They are all that's been described so far. I was a type A. I acquired high blood pressure and rapid heart beats.

One day after the most meaningless argument with my boss I packed my stuff, turned in their stuff and left.

That was 2 years ago, I left the city and the job behind and now live in a rural area where things are so slow I can enjoy what I never did before.

I left a job that paid six figures and now I live on $8,000 a year and I'm loving it.

Type A is not worth it, I've learned that much less in life is much more to life.

Basically Type A is about being totally driven, focused, and on the go all the time. These people rarely take the opportunity to relax and are usually workaholics. They can be in all types of fields and not just business... they are just passionate and utterly focused individuals, and often its on a certain area in their lives... to the detriment of others.
Type A personalities can be prone to heart disease and cardiac arrest and other stress-related illnesses.

Type A personality, also known as the Type A Behavior Pattern, is a set of characteristics that includes being impatient, excessively time-conscious, insecure about one's status, highly competitive, hostile and aggressive, and incapable of relaxation.[1] Type A individuals are often highly achieving workaholics who multi-task, drive themselves with deadlines, and are unhappy about the smallest of delays. They have been described as stress junkies.
