Where is this school, in Canada? What school is so messed up that it has to assign seating at lunch??? If my school growing up assigned seating for lunch time I think I would have asked to go to a private school. Public school sucks on so many levels and this proves the point. What does the school control by making you sit and eat your lunch with people you may not normally sit with? Is this forced integration or something? Also, if you are forced to eat lunch with people who normally would not be your friends, make the most of it. The real world make you talk and work with people you may never have thought were cool people. Don't lock yourself into only talking to people that make you comfortable, talk to anyone and everyone. You will be a better and more educated person by taking this approach of a really lame situation at school.

I would have hated assigned seating in junior high. Junior High is to teach you to become an adult. But the fact that your reason for being mad is because you can't laugh with your friends and not eat at lunch is not going to win over your principal. Use the adult excuse if you do talk to the principal! Hope this helps, Good luck dear!

I think you should go to St. Jude's Hospital for Children and visit a girl your age with leukemia... then you will realize that your petty problems are not important and that there are people out there with relevant things to whine about. Eat your friggin lunch, graduate from middle school, and you'll never think about this again in your entire life.

Well, I think that it's stupid that they have assigned seating. But if you are stcuk with it, i would say try to be friendly to the people you are forced to sit by. Once you get to know them, I bet they won't be as bad as you think they are.
