i own a shop, and first you need to check the coolant in it,and see if it is completely full ,it has to be kept full for the heater to work right on it,if it is full and you have no heat the thermostat may be stuck open in it,this will have to be checked out by a good mechanic,id take it by a local shop, and see if they can figure it out,it would be faster and cheaper to have it repaired, good luck,i hope this help,s.

Most cars have a valve on the heater pipes, under the bonnet somewhere around near the windscreen , and when you adjust the heater switch or knob in the car it pulls open this valve which allows hot water to flow into the heater radiator under the dashboard, which then has hot air blowing throught it into the car.
Locate this valve , there should be a cable coupled to it, let someone work the heater switch or knob, sometimes the cable has unhooked or similar, and does not open the valve.
It is also possible that the thermostat is not opening, which means the engine water is getting hot, but the radiator water stays cool, and the heater pipes might be coupled to the radiator section.
Make sure your engine is not overheating as well because of a faulty thermostat, it does not always show on the heat guage.

First, after the car has set several hours and is cold, open the radiator and make sure the radiator is full of coolant. If not buy some "premix" at the parts store and fill it. If it is full or after it is full if you do not get hot air, you have one of two problems. A bad thermostat or a plugged heater core. To check these I would recommend that you take it to a reputable mechanic and tell him your problem. If you have the heater core replaced, strongly recommend new thermostat at that time.

A car gets it's heat from the radiator coolant. The coolant flows through a "radiator" located close to the passenger compartment, the fan blows the hot air from that radiator into the passenger compartment through the air-flow vents.
You are not driving the car long enough to allow the radiator coolant to get hot enough or your coolant lines to the inside radiator are getting clogged.

This may sound bizarre. My kid has a Ford Focus. When the car gets low on water (not low enough to overheat) the bloody heater core doesn't get any water. I have never seen anything like it in my life. But it could be many things. At least your water level is easy to check. Start there.

1. check your thermostat. It may be stuck open.
2. You may also have a clogged heater core.
3. Low antifreeze
4. Malfunctioning heater valve or mix door

Sounds like you need a new thermostat...if it's not that, maybe a heater core. Try the thermostat first tho

hate to tell u but you have to bring it to a machanic. fixing a heater or an air conditioner is very expensive and be careful that you bring it to a good one that will guarentee it gets fixed. my air conditioner conked out and kept causing the check engine light to go on and when i broguht it to a reputable machanic they informed me that it is very costly. i asked them if they would give me a warentee and they honored that one. the woman who owns it pulled me aside and told me that if a place does not offer me a warentee for that job to not even bother with them. she imformed me that when a heater or an air conditioner conks out it always drains your pockets. good luck hope every thing works out for you

you need to check your coolant level if you are low on antifreeze your car will not warm up until you rev your engine to high rpm,s i do not recommend revving your car. you should simply check your coolant level this is the most simple solution if your coolant is not low you may need to replace your thermostat
