Alright I know this sounds very obscure

first off, I know macs get some virus, so its not 100% safe. But according to common belief it is actually significantly safer than Windows.

So if anyone knows some technical (not too complicated) detail on why macs don't get virus, please tell me! Thanks

I m an intermediate computer user and a webmaster, i think i could take some computer words =)

Waiting for your answer! Thanks for reading

There are two main reasons for this. The first reason is the operating system. Macs run a variant of the Unix operating system underneath the flashy graphics. Unix is a very un-trusting operating system by design, and it doesn't allow just any piece of computer code to run without proper permissions. Users don't sign into their Macs with a whole lot of permissions that would allow malicious code into the heart of the system. So even if an infection occurred, the only stuff that would get damaged would be stuff the user has permissions to change.

The second main reason is that Macs aren't as widespread as PCs. Since Windows more or less dominates the planet, that's the system that most hackers and virus writers are going to attack.

That being said, there are viruses out there for Macs, and any computing platform needs proper security hardening to keep out malicious code and hackers.
