where can i hire a registered nurse or midwife, for home care of an old man who underwent knee surgery recently... he lives in the san jose, california area...

Look in the phone book or online for a Nursing home health agency.

It depends on whether or not you would like to pay a fortune out of pocket for his care thru a nursing agency or hire privately. Either way you will spend a fortune and risk getting a bad nurse.
Advertise or call a nursing services agency in your area. Wish I was in California, I would apply.
RN in hospital for 12 yrs. BURNT OUT!!!!
