i wouldnt. with todays prices the electric heat will send your electric bill through the roof and then there will be another repair to be made. i dont know where you live, but the advantage of propane heat is you will be warm when the lights go out, plus it cost way too much to retrofit your home for electric heating. if you really want to change it, i would suggest baseboard heating. cheap, yet sufficiant, and fairly simple to run

You would have to replace the furnace as a general rule electric heat is more expensive to operate than electric although a heat pump can be comparable to propane but cost mare to install.

More importantly is not how much it would cost to change over to electric heat, but rather how much it will cost to actually heat with it.
Up here in Michigan we have something we call “Winter”; trying to heat a home up here with electricity will drive you to bankruptcy real quick.
Any local heating contractor in your area should be able to advise you on the most economical method to heat in your area.

It's not only a matter of switching over to electric. There are also other variables to consider. The walls, are the built for and insulated for electric? Why would you want to convert? Of course it's going to cost you something and how long of time Will it take to recoup these costs?
There's a lot to think about if you want to convert, best to seek help from a specialist.
